Clyde John Cole

 

HURDLAND, MO - Clyde John Cole, 85, of Hurdland, Missouri, passed away Monday, April 15, 2024 at Salt River Nursing Home in Shelbina, Missouri.

 

Born March 4, 1939 in Etna, Illinois, Clyde was the son of the late Ivan Dale and Cleo (Graham) Cole. He was also preceded in death by one sister, Pearle Norine Cole. On April 29, 1960 in Charleston, Illinois, Clyde was united in marriage to Sandra Kay Webster.

 

Clyde is survived by his wife Sandra of sixty-three years; son, Ivan Cole and wife Martha of Brashear, MO, and son Todd Cole of Columbia, MO; one daughter, Cathy and husband Matt  Brown of St. Charles, MO; two sisters, Audrey Snider and Lennie Heddins both of Charleston, IL; five grandchildren, Chase (Jenna) Cole, ChaRae (Ryan) Wagner, Billy (Tiffany) Hunolt, Charlie (Brittany) Hunolt, and Mindy (Cody) Doscher; as well as thirteen great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

 

Clyde received his education and graduated from high school in Charleston, Illinois. He resided in the Hurdland area since 1967 and was a longtime farmer. Throughout the years Clyde enjoyed coon hunting, taking care of animals, he was a 4-H Leader, and baseball coach. While residing in Charleston, IL, he was a member of the Bible Center Christian Church.

It was Clyde's wish to be cremated and his family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 27, 2024 to celebrate his life at Travis-Noe Funeral Home in Kirksville.

 

Memorial donations in memory of Clyde may be made to Knox County Food Bank and may be left at or mailed to Travis-Noe Funeral Home, P.O. Box 306, Kirksville, MO 63501.
