Bill was born January 14, 1924 to Faye and Oral Boaz. On March 24, 1946, he married Martha Lee and they shared 72 wonderful years of marriage before God called her home on July 19, 2018. He is survived by his children, Yvette (Ed) Brown, Denny (Marcy) Boaz, Beverly (Les) Edwards, and Cheryl (Gary) Gilbert, seven grandchildren: Matthew Brown, Joseph Brown, Eric Boaz, Keith Boaz, Carmen Williamson, Jill Conyers, and Marny Fitzpatrick. Twelve great-grandchildren, and five great-great-grandchildren also survive. In addition to his loving wife, he was proceeded in death by his parents, his siblings, his daughter-in-law, Cindy Boaz and his granddaughter, Rachel Brown.
After owning and operating a rural milk route for several years, Bill answered God’s call and became a minister of the gospel. He pastored at Farmington, Oak Grove, Clear Creek and New Hope Kickapoo Church. As a minister, he will fondly be remembered for the love and compassion that he showed to all. His greatest joy was leading others to the plan of salvation through the Lord Jesus Christ.
In addition, many will remember Bill as their school bus driver or their McNess man, both jobs that he greatly enjoyed.
Memorials honoring his life may be made to Northside Baptist Church or St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.
