Charles Swart
CHARLESTON – Charles A. Swart, 85, of Charleston, passed away Saturday, April 28, 2018 at his home.
His graveside funeral will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 1, 2018 at Janesville Cemetery, Janesville, Illinois. Casual attire would be appreciated. There will be no visitation. Arrangements: Harper-Swickard.
Charles was born August 10, 1932 at Heaton, ND, son of Ralph A. and Dorothy V. (Myers) Swart. He married Opal L. Lang, July 4, 1953 at Corinth, Mississippi; she survives. Also surviving are their children: Judith (Lowell) Thompson of Charleston, Robert (Anita) Swart of Lerna, and Sharon “Katie” Rose of Charleston. One sister: Myrtle Anderson of North Dakota; four grandchildren: Kimberly (Billy) White, Penny Wallace, Doug (Shannon) Heddins, and Robert D. Swart, Jr.; three great-grandchildren: Ashley Heddins, Andrew Decaro, and Matthew Chaney; as well as special friend: Larry Hurst, also survive. He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers: Lester Swart, Earl Swart, Frank Swart, and Royal Swart; and one sister: Agnes Easton.
Charles retired from the Clark Foundry. He was a man who enjoyed the simple life, tending his horses and farm animals, and cherished time he spent with family.
