Dorothy Skinlo
CHARLESTON – Dorothy Maxine Skinlo, 86, of Mattoon, formerly of Charleston, passed away Saturday, July 20, 2019 at SBLHC.
Her memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, July 25, 2019 at the Caudill-King Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to: Omaha Home for Boys.
Dorothy was born December 31, 1932 at Humboldt, South Dakota, daughter of George and Minnie (Iwerks) Tjaden. She is survived by a son: William T. Skinlo and wife Peggy of Charleston; a daughter-in-law: Michelle Skinlo of Mattoon; and one granddaughter: Taylor Elaine Skinlo and fiancee’ Trevor Terrell of Laveen, AZ; nieces and nephews: Cheryl Lenz and husband Tom of Arizona, Tom Pirrung and wife Jo of South Dakota, Connie Szody and husband Jim from South Dakota, also survive. She was preceded in death by her parents, one son: Donald Skinlo, three brothers, and two sisters.
Dorothy was a house mother at the Omaha Home for Boys for many years. She enjoyed crocheting and made countless lap robes and donated them to the local nursing homes, and she enjoyed coloring books.
