James East
CHARLESTON – James Lowell East, 57, of Danville, formerly of Charleston, passed away Tuesday, August 20, 2019 at his home.
His memorial service will be held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, August 24, 2019 at the Harper-Swickard Funeral Home with Pastor Vance Oliver officiating. Visitation will begin at 2:00 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Inurnment will be private.
James was born October 23, 1961 at Charleston, son of Lowell and Violet (Miller) East. He is survived by three brothers: Tom (Cheryl) Walker of Burnet, TX, Rick (Chris) Walker of Shelbyville, and Robert East of Charleston and one sister: Angela Kirkley of Charleston. Numerous nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews also survive. He was preceded in death by his parents.
James was a U.S. Army veteran, serving in the White House Communications Agency. He had in later years worked at the Danville Veterans Administration Hospital, taking care of fellow veterans.
