KANSAS – Jan Rhoden, 58, of Kansas, passed away Friday, November 1, 2019 at Twin Lakes Rehabilitation and Health Care, Paris.

 

Her funeral will be held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 5, 2019 at Lake Ridge Christian Church, 122 E. Steidl Road, Paris, IL, with Nate Alexander officiating.  Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery, rural Kansas.  Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday at the church.  Memorials may be directed to the family.  Arrangements: Harper-Swickard.  

 

Jan was born October 24, 1961 at Tampa, Florida, daughter of Jeanette Ilene (Hamilton) and Sterling Clifford Mitchell, Sr.  She married Charles “Chuck” Rhoden, September 26, 1981 at Mattoon; he survives.  Also surviving are their daughters:  Faye (Chad) Flynn of Charleston, Jessica (Chris) Butler of Paris, and Carrie (Jesse) Dennis of Casey; grandchildren: Callie, Sydney, Cadence, Sophia, Izzabella, and Bentley; siblings: Jewel Highland, Angela Brooks, Sterling Clifford Mitchell, Jr., Sterling Lowell Mitchell, Glen Mitchell, Rodney Mitchell, and Clarence Joseph Boggs.  She was preceded in death by her parents, and one sister: Judy Gross.

 

Jan was devoted to her family, and enjoyed nothing more than spending time with them.  She had formerly worked at Casey Tool and Machine, and was a former member of the Kansas American Legion Ladies’ Auxiliary.
