John “Pete” Terrell
CHARLESTON – John Franklin “Pete” Terrell, 64, of Charleston, passed away Sunday, December 1, 2019 at SBLHC.
His memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, December 14, 2019 at the East Harrison Street Church of God, with Pastor Curt Weaver officiating. Arrangements: Harper-Swickard.
Pete was born April 12, 1955 in Paris, Illinois, son of Donald and Juanita (Searles) Terrell. He married Dianna Lynne Hayes, April 30, 2017 at Charleston; she survives. Also surviving are his children: Tamara Craig of Charleston, Traci Harrington of Charleston, Tara Terrell of Terre Haute, IN, Trevor Terrell of AZ, and John Beavers of Charleston; two step-children: Matthew Kochanowski of Indianapolis, IN and Julie Lawrence of Mattoon; two brothers: Donnie Terrell of CO and James Terrell of Mattoon; seven sisters: Bonita Swift of Mattoon, Barbara Knifley of Charleston, Margaret Penny of KY, Diana Terrell of Belleville, IL, Anita Carey of IL, Darla Terrell of WV, and Shirley McCullough of Mattoon. Twelve grandchildren, one step-grandchild, and seven great-grandchildren also survive. He was preceded in death by his parents, one son: John Thomas Terrell; one step-daughter: Sheryl Kochanowski; and four sisters: Meralyn Terrell, Teresa Darlene Terrell, Virginia Terrell, and Tina Hickman.
Pete was a U.S. Army veteran and had attended East Harrison Street Church of God. He had worked as a carpenter.
