Kathryn Warner
OAKLAND – Kathryn Warner, 81, of Oakland, passed away Monday, February 26, 2018 at Hilltop Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
The funeral service honoring her life will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, March 1, 2018 at the Harper-Swickard Funeral Home, Charleston. Burial will follow in Van Voorhis Cemetery, rural Hindsboro. Visitation will begin at 11:00 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Memorials: American Cancer Society.
Kathryn was born October 14, 1936 at Grandview, Illinois, daughter of Cearl and Dessie (Moore) Price. She is survived by three children: Barbara Lynn Rice (John Richelderfer) of Charleston, Brian (Lisa) Warner of Oakland, and Brad (Kim) Warner of Hindsboro; daughter-in-law: Joyce Warner of Oakland. Two brothers: Tom Price of Rardin and Gene Price of Mattoon; and four sisters: Freida White of Sullivan, Vella (Junior) Lasco of Long Creek, Rosie Hite of Rardin, and Loretta (Lennie) Warman of Dietrich; as well as eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren also survive. She was preceded in death by one son: Darrell Warner; one brother: Charles Emmanuel Price; one sister: Ruby Brown; and her special companion: Marvin Craig.
Kathryn retired from Brown Shoe Company. She loved working in her huge vegetable garden, and always shared the bounty with family and neighbors. But the true joy in her life was taking care of and spending time with family.
