CASEY – Marshall Emerson Clark, 86, of Mattoon, formerly of Casey, passed away Tuesday, January 2, 2018 at SBLHC.
The funeral service honoring his life will be held at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, January 6, 2018 at the Harper-Swickard Funeral Home, Charleston. Burial will follow in Janesville Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
Marshall was born April 22, 1931 at Grand Rapids, MI, son of Cloise Emerson and Bernice Naomi (Parks) Clark. He married Rita Mae Martin, March 7, 1953 at Spokane, WA; she survives. Also surviving are their children: Jim (Rhonda) Clark of Casey, Pam (Pete) Justice of Casey, Shane (Christine) Clark of Lerna, Cheryl (Toby) Hochstetler of Gays, Yancey (Hope) Clark of Greenup, Randy Clark of Charleston, Linda (Jim) Brummer of Jewett, and Connie (Eric) Boyd of Casey.
Two brothers: Gary Lee (Roz) Clark of Kansas City, MO and Mike (Angie) Clark of Sussex, WI; one sister: Marilyn (Charlie) Scott of Toledo, IL; as well as thirty-three grandchildren, forty-nine great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild also survive. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister: Joyce Collins.
Marshall attended of East Side Church of Christ in Casey. He enjoyed fishing, camping, and swimming, but especially enjoyed telling stories. Marshall was a U.S. Navy veteran. He worked for many years at FS, and later retired from EIU as a Building Service Worker.
