Robert McKinney
CHARLESTON – Robert McKinney, 81, of Charleston, passed away Thursday, May 3, 2018 at Charleston Rehabilitation and Health Care Center.
His graveside funeral will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, May 7, 2018 at Roselawn Cemetery, Charleston, with Scott Sims officiating. Masonic Rites will be performed by Charleston Lodge #35. Bob was born June 12, 1936 at Charleston, son of John E. and Grace Maxine (Silence) McKinney. He married Anita Kaley, July 26, 1964 at the Walnut Grove Christian Church; she preceded him in death, December 18, 2016. Surviving are their children: Ed McKinney and wife Kyle of Charleston and Rob McKinney and wife Jodi of Charleston; grandchildren: Rylee McKinney, Jed McKinney, Sean McKinney, Rachel Hall, and Kaley McKinney; great-grandchildren: Lexi Kerr, Dallas Kerr, Maggie Hall, Benjamin McKinney, Spencer McKinney. One sister: Sandra Adams of Springfield, IL also survives. He was preceded in death by his parents, and one sister: Marjory McFadden.
Bob retired from CIPS after 43 years of service. He was a member of the Charleston Masonic Lodge. Bob liked to raise hogs, did a little farming, enjoyed mushroom hunting, hunting for game, and was a dedicated volunteer for the Coles County Fair, and served on its’ Board for many years.
