Wesley Turner, Sr.

CHARLESTON – Wesley Owen Turner, Sr., 76, of Charleston, passed away Sunday, December 23, 2018 at home.

Wesley was born July 25, 1942 at Marshall, Illinois, son of Henry and Leona (Abrams) Turner. He married Sharon Ann Young, August 9, 1966; she passed away March 12, 2017. He is survived by two children: Rhonda Phillips and Wesley Turner, Jr.; two brothers: David Turner and Ray Turner; and four sisters: Betty Beavers, Jody Campbell, Norma Carver, and Donna Terrell. Numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren also survive. He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters.

Wesley was a mechanic, and had worked at Raben Tire, which later became Ben Tire. He absolutely loved watching NASCAR.
