Jeanne Rose

CHARLESTON – Carrol Jeanne (Hackett) Rose, 85, of Charleston, passed away Thursday, October 26, 2017 at SBLHC.

The funeral service honoring her life will be held at 2:30 p.m. Monday, October 30, 2017 at the Harper-Swickard Funeral Home with Pastor Gary Hopkins officiating.  Burial will follow in Kickapoo Cemetery, rural Charleston.  Visitation will be two hours prior to the service Monday at the funeral home.

Jeanne was born March 28, 1932 at Camargo, Illinois, daughter of Alonzo Pearl Hackett and Elizabeth Indiana (Brewer) Hackett.  She married James W. Rose, Jr. October 4, 1949.  He preceded her into Heaven, August 22, 2008.  She is survived by their children: Nina Rose of Charleston and Nancy (Gary) Grissom of Lerna; two grandsons: Nathan (Tricia) Grissom of Lerna and Wesley (Jenny) Grissom, Fairmont, WV; great-grandchildren: Addyson, Bryleigh, Arilynn, Weston, and Camden.  One brother: Ned Hackett of Charleston; and two sisters: Joyce Arbogash of Carol Stream, IL and Maxine Cole of Mattoon, also survive.  She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, and one sister.

Jeanne graduated from CHS in 1949.  She loved to crochet and sew, and enjoyed tending her garden.  Jeanne was an excellent cook, always earning compliments for her talent.  Most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family.
