Cheri Hampton

PHOENIX, AZ – Cheri Delores Hampton, 90, of Phoenix, AZ, formerly of Charleston, Illinois, passed away Friday, December 6, 2024 at her home.

The funeral service honoring her life will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, December 14, 2024 at the Harper-Swickard Funeral Home.  Burial will follow at Rest Haven Memorial Gardens, Mattoon.  Visitation will begin at 9:00 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.  Memorials in her honor may be made to the American Cancer Society.  A reception will be held following the burial, with details announced at the service.

Cheri was born June 21, 1934 at Taylorville, Illinois, daughter of Joseph H. and Daisy (Blair) Hayes.  She married Clinton Eugene Hampton in 1954.  He passed away January 8, 2018.  She is survived by their children, Clinton Michael Hampton of Waynedale, IN, Twila Marie Hewlett of Tolleson, AZ, and Shelly Jo Waddell of El Cajon, CA, thirteen grandchildren, twenty great-grandchildren, and siblings, Reverend Larry Hayes of Chaumont, NY, Janice Morgan of Mattoon, and Trudi Crossman of Arthur.  She was preceded in death by her parents, sons, Robert Eugene Shick and Randy Hampton, four brothers and two sisters.

Cheri was devoted to her family.
