Debra Barker

CHARLESTON – Debra Kay Barker, 70, of rural Charleston, passed away Monday, January 20, 2025 at her home.

Debra was born July 27, 1954 at Charleston, Illinois, daughter of Charles and Lois (Reynolds) Fuller.  She married Joseph Paul Barker, October 17, 1975 at Fairgrange, Illinois.  He passed away February 6, 2013.  She is survived by their children, Jamie Barker and wife Kendra of Charleston and Jeff Barker of Charleston; grandchildren, Chase Barker, Cooper Barker, and Georgia Jo Barker; siblings, Diana Groff and Sue White, both of Charleston, and Marsha Hatcher of Beckley, WV.  She was preceded in death by her parents.

Debra was a faithful member of the Bushton Christian Church.  She was a longtime employee of the Hour House and in earlier years had worked as a cook in the Charleston School District.  Debra was an avid reader, and was a member of the PTA when her children were still in school, and she enjoyed attending her grandchildren's sports and school activities.
