CHARLESTON – Debra Ann Nicol, 65, of Charleston, formerly of Marshall, passed away Monday, January 27, 2020 at Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana.
Her graveside funeral will be at 1:00 p.m. Friday, January 31, 2020 at Darwin Cemetery, Darwin. Arrangements: Caudill-King Funeral Home, Charleston. Memorials in her honor may be made to the Salvation Army, 1300 Richmond Avenue, Mattoon, IL 61938.
Debra was born March 6, 1954 at Terre Haute, Indiana, daughter of Robert and Opal Mae (Pittenger) Nicol. She is survived by her aunt: Dolores Pine of Tucker, GA; cousins: Janice Malone of Winder, GA, Kevin Pine of Lawrenceville, GA, Karen Tuten of Loganville, GA, Emery Pittenger of Charleston, Mark Pittenger of Marshall, Danney Pittenger of Newton, Carol Ann Parks of Paris, Cathy Bachelor of Robinson, Timothy Pittenger of Marshall, and Terry Pittenger. Additional cousins and friends, as well as dear friends, Lisa and Frank Crawford also survive. She was preceded in death by her parents, uncle Clyde Pine, uncle Charles Pittenger and wife Norma, and cousins: Larry Pittenger and Thomas Pittenger.
Debra was proud to have volunteered at the Salvation Army for many years. She might have been Elvis Presley's biggest fan. Debra enjoyed reading, coloring books, and crafts of all kinds. She also loved beagles, Harley-Davidson motorcycles, and John Deere tractors.
The family would like to express their gratitude to the staff of Charleston Rehabilitation and Health Care Center for the love and care they have given Debra during her stay.
