Doris Emberton

CHARLESTON – Doris I. Emberton, 92, of Charleston, passed away Sunday, October 14, 2018 at Hilltop Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

Her funeral will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, October 18, 2018 at the Caudill-King Funeral Home.  Burial will follow in Van Voorhis Cemetery, rural Hindsboro.  Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Doris was born July 12, 1926 at Oakland, daughter of Orville E. and Ola Belle (Richey) Seales.  She married Bernard W. Emberton, August 5, 1943; he preceded her in death, June 22, 1998.  She is survived by their children: Judy Peel of Decatur, Larry (Vicki) Emberton, Kerry (Cathy) Emberton, Sue (Paul) Snider, and Nancy Emberton, all of Charleston; Nine grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and seven great-great-grandchildren also survive.  She was also preceded in death by her parents, son: Roger Emberton; and brother: Wayne Seales.

Doris was a member of the Charleston V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary.  She worked as a cashier at the Charleston IGA and Save-More, and had also worked in Physical Therapy at SBLHC.  Doris was devoted to her family, and always treasured the time she was able to spend with them.  She was loved by many.
