Jack Young

CHARLESTON – Jack A. Young, 81, of Charleston, passed away Saturday, July 18, 2026 at Willow Breeze Hospice House.

Jack was born June 6, 1945 in Terre Haute, Indiana, son of Willard and Virginia (McIntire) Young. He married Nancy Flanagan. She preceded him in death. He is survived by his companion, Donna Baker of Charleston; son, Randy Young; nieces and nephews, Cindy Hudson of Charleston, Frank (Kristy) Inman of Champaign, Wes Turner of Charleston, Gladys McManus of Crawfordsville, IN, Rhonda Phillips of Mattoon, and Betsy Davis of Crawfordsville, IN. He was preceded in death by his parents, and several brothers and sisters.

Jack had been a farmer in his younger years, and later worked as a mechanic. He loved to play pool and work on lawn mowers and weed eaters.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, July 22, 2022 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Harper-Swickard Funeral Home. Burial of ashes will be private.
