Jacquelyn Colet

CHARLESTON -  Beloved friend and mother, Jacquelyn Carlee Colet, 77, of Charleston, passed away Thursday October 24, 2024 at Charleston Rehab, Charleston IL., surrounded by family.

Jacqui was born March 8, 1947 in Joliet, Illinois. She is survived by her children, Jason Colet and Jessica von Medicus, their spouses Brittany Colet and Freeman von Medicus, and Grandson, Bryson Colet. She was preceded in death by her parents, Carl and Alice (Zumwalt) Nink and one brother, James Nink.

Jacqui graduated from the University of Illinois with a bachelor's degree in

nursing, and from the University of Phoenix with both bachelor's and master's degrees in accounting. She was a woman of many skills as evidenced by numerous careers including nurse, contractor, real estate broker, professional driver, housing manager, and accountant. Of all her jobs, she excelled the most at being a mother. Her hobbies included crocheting, fishing, reading fantasy novels, and watching Star Trek.

A Memorial Service celebrating her life will be held on Saturday, December 7, 2024 at the United Pentecostal Tabernacle, 2442 Harrison Avenue, Charleston, IL, with Rev. Roger Wood officiating. Visitation will be at 11:00 AM with service following at 12:00 PM. Memorials in her honor may be directed to Charleston Rehabilitation & Health Care Center, Charleston, IL.  Arrangements: Harper-Swickard.
