James A. Pier

CHARLESTON - James Allen Pier, 35, of Charleston, passed away Wednesday, January 8, 2025 at home.

James was born November 25, 1989 in Hanover Park, Illinois, son of Cynthia Ann (Johnson) and Allen Lucas Pier.  He is survived by his mother, Cynthia Adams and husband Edward of Charleston, father, Allen Pier and wife Elizabeth of Newport, TN; siblings, Nathan Crawford and wife Mary of Thompsons Station, TN, David Crawford and wife Cassandra of Germantown, TN, Joanne Crawford and Jacob Pedersen of Rochester, MN, Sarah Alva and husband Antonino of Charleston, and Erica Hackman and husband Sam of Cleveland Heights, OH; nieces and nephews, Mark, Bella, Zoe, Ava, Daniel, Mae, Jade, Maya, Alejandro, Oscar T., and Oscar W.; and an Aunt, Barbara Pier and husband Anthony Vitagliano of Des Plaines, IL; and numerous, Aunts, Uncles, and Cousins that loved him dearly and are broken hearted.  He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, paternal grandparents, and a nephew, Jacob Crawford.

James worked as a software developer at Servio Consulting, LLC.  He was loved by everyone he came in contact with.  James was a highly intelligent, sensitive, and creative soul.  He loved music and was a gifted guitar player, incredibly generous, and a hilariously funny man, who took pride in caring for others.
