Joan Winnett

CHARLESTON – Joan Ellen Winnett, 84, of Charleston, passed away Sunday, May 24, 2020.

Her graveside funeral will be private.  Arrangements: Caudill-King.  Memorials in her honor may be made to the donor's choice.

Joan was born February 13, 1936 in Jamestown, North Dakota, daughter of Rose Ellen Myers.  She was raised by her grandparents, Charles and Bessie (Temple) Myers.  She married Donald L. Winnett, December 11, 1954 at Corinth, MS.  He passed away May 20, 2016.  She is survived by their children: Barbara J. Rogers and friend Charlie Rardin of Loxa, Earnest "Butch" L. Winnett and wife Deborah of Charleston, Charles D. Winnett of Charleston, Paul A. Winnett and wife Jo Nelda of Auburndale, FL, and D. Eugene Winnett and friend Pam Hayes of Charleston.  Seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren, numerous step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren, as well as one half-brother:  Raymond Crocker of Yakima, WA; and two half-sisters: Arlene Koppenhaver of Terry, MT and Jelline Johnson of Great Falls, MT, as well as her second family at Charleston Rehab, also survive.  She was preceded in death by her grandparents, mother, step-father: Elmer Crocker, twin sister: Jean Bell, and half-brother: Charles Crocker.

Joan retired from Trailmobile after twenty-three years of service.  She loved to go camping and canned vegetables every year from Don's huge garden.  Joan enjoyed traveling with her twin sister to North Dakota and Montana to see their family and also visiting her son in Florida.  She loved her family most of all.
