Karon Fowler

INDIANAPOLIS – Karon Sue Fowler, 81, of Indianapolis, formerly of Mattoon, passed away Friday, April 19, 2024 at Rosegate Nursing Home, Indianapolis, IN.

Her graveside funeral will be held at 2:00 p.m. (CDT) Wednesday, April 24, 2024 at Pleasant Hill Cemetery, rural Kansas, Illinois, with Father Braden Maher officiating.  Arrangements: Caudill-King.

Karon was born February 4, 1943 at Kansas, Illinois, daughter of Lanson L. "Roy" and Irene M. (Thompson) Willison.  She is survived by two daughters, Dianna Kirkley of Indianapolis and Connie Shane of Canada, one son, Kevin Kirkley of Shelbyville, IN; four granddaughters, Nicole Howe, Brandy Kirkley, Bree Kirkley, and Breanna Shane, and nine great-grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her parents, and two sisters, Bonnie Willison and Sharon Zahnd.

Karon retired from St. Francis Hospital, where she had worked as a Nursing Assistant.
