Kathy Gandy

CHARLESTON – Kathy Jean Gandy, 71, of Charleston, passed away Friday, August 21, 2026 at her home.

Kathy was born March 27, 1955 at Charleston, a daughter of Kenneth Ray and Virginia Jean (Price) Roberts. She married Garry Wayne Gandy, April 23, 1991 at Charleston; he survives. Also surviving are their children, Michael Maher and wife Lindsay of Charleston, Zachary Gandy of Charleston, and Kerry Gandy and fiancé Rachel of Villa Grove; grandchildren, Landon Maher, Avery Maher, Greyson Maher, Bryce Rudder, Addysen Rudder, Emersyn Rudder, and Aurelia Gandy; her siblings, Allen Roberts, Sr. of Charleston, Joyce Lewis of Charleston, Terry Roberts of Texas, Karen Matthews and husband Lonnie of Charleston, Donna Slifer and husband Paul of Bloomington, Marty Roberts and wife Shannon of Charleston, Scott Roberts of Oakland, Janet Reeley and husband Tim of Fairgrange, and Becky Smith and husband Robbie of Fairgrange. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Kathy was a graduate of Charleston High School. She worked alongside her sister for many years at Donna’s Cleaners, and then retired from Byrd’s Cleaners. Kathy loved spending time with her family, and treasured her role as Grandma.
