Kathy Jenkins

WESTFIELD – Kathy Jenkins, 64, of rural Westfield, passed away Friday, July 5, 2019 at SBLHC.

The funeral service honoring her life will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, July 11, 2019 at the Caudill-King Funeral Home.  Burial will follow in Liberty Cemetery, rural Charleston.  Visitation will be Wednesday evening from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.  Memorials: Pets for Vets at the Coles County Animal Shelter.

Kathy was born February 3, 1955 at Ft. Wayne, IN, daughter of Mahlon and Wanda Mae (Frazier) Rouch.  She married Butch Jenkins, September 1, 1973 at Loxa, Illinois; he survives.  Also surviving are their children: Jessica (Scott) Verfurth of Phoenix, AZ and Casey Renee Jenkins of Westfield; one half-brother: Richard Darnell of Mattoon; one half-sister: Connie Stamps of Nashville, TN; and three grandchildren: Joslyn Verfurth, Vaughn Verfurth, and Brinlee Verfurth, all of Phoenix, AZ also survive.  She was preceded in death by her parents.

Kathy has worked as a seamstress since 1972, first working alongside her mother at The Sewing Salon, and then taking over the business once her mother was no longer able to continue.  Sewing was not just a way to make a living, but it was something she truly enjoyed.  She also loved gardening.
