Linda Dailey

CHARLESTON – Linda Darlene Dailey, 73, of Charleston, passed away Sunday, March 29, 2020 at Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana.

Linda was born August 29, 1946 at Mattoon, daughter of Wanda (Calhoun) and Walter Wade, Sr.  She married Steven Foster Dailey, August 14, 1965. He preceded her in death, February 18, 2015.  She is survived by their children, Robert (Kari) Dailey of Charleston and Michele (Randy) Jones of Stuart, FL. Four grandchildren, Madison Dailey of Charleston, Teigan Jones of Miami, FL, Wade Jones of Charleston, and Gage Dailey of Cincinnati, OH.  Two great-grandchildren, Jett Kolesar and Cohen Shafer, both of Charleston. Two brothers, Walter Wade, Jr. and Chuck (Vickie) Wade, both of Charleston, and two sisters, Bernie (Joe) Elson of Windsor and Carol (Johnny) Lang of Charleston. A sister in law, Sandra (Steve) Bell.  And many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Linda was born and raised in the Mattoon-Charleston area.  She enjoyed working at Textbook Rental at EIU for many years until she retired. She was proud of her family and was dedicated to being a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend to many. She was generous, sweet, funny and loved spending time at home with friends and family. As a faithful believer in God she was at peace knowing she would be reunited with her husband, Steve, who she has missed so much for the past 5 years.  She will be deeply missed by all who loved her.

A graveside memorial service will be held at 5:00 p.m. Friday, October 9, 2020 at Ashmore Cemetery .  Arrangements: Caudill-King.
