Marilyn Marshall-Vaughn

MATTOON - Marilyn (Janes) Marshall-Vaughn, age 81, of Mattoon, passed away peacefully, surrounded by loved ones, on February 6, 2018.

Marilyn was cremated and will be buried at Pleasant Grove Cemetery, Cooks Mills. A graveside memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, May 12, 2018. Arrangements: Caudill-King.

Marilyn was born August 29, 1936, in Mattoon, daughter of Merrell and Lorene (Clodfelder) Janes.

Marilyn is survived by her husband, Tom Vaughn.  They were married on May 16, 1992. Together they shared their children: Bill Marshall, Springfield, MO, Cheryl (Kenneth) Giddens, Branson West, MO, Lori (Bruce) Williamson, Rocky Comfort, MO, Jeanetta Marshall, Springfield, MO, Troy (Gretchen) Vaughn, Neoga, IL, and Kim (Jim) Brigham, Mattoon, IL. Two sisters: Betty Swanson of Palmetto, FL and Margaret Stubblefield of Peoria, IL; as well as 22 grandchildren and 31 great-grandchildren also survive. She also leaves behind a host of very special nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Gary Marshall; a brother, Frank Janes and her very special, Aunt Wanda Stabler.

Marilyn spent most of her lifetime being a hairdresser.  It was her ministry, as she had the gift of making every customer feel so important and loved.

The family would like to invite everyone who attends the service to come to Fellowship Center, 301 Lafayette Ave. E, in Mattoon, immediately following, for food and fellowship.

Memorials are suggested to Alzheimer's Association.
