Marilyn Brady

CHARLESTON – Marilyn Faye Brady, 82, of Charleston, passed away Sunday, May 20, 2018 at Hilltop Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

The funeral service honoring her life will be held at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, May 27, 2018 at the Harper-Swickard Funeral Home with Scott Sims officiating.  Burial will follow in Roselawn Cemetery, Charleston.  Visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.  Memorials: Coles County Animal Shelter.

Marilyn was born September 1, 1935 at Windsor, Illinois, daughter of Cecil E. and Edna M. (Estes) Jones.  She married Harold Brady, August 28, 1984 at the First Methodist Church in Mattoon; he died January 4, 1990.  She is survived by three sons: Daniel (Lisa) Maxedon of Oakland, Ronald (Stefanie) Maxedon of South Lake, TX, and David (Cindy) Maxedon of Liberty, TX.  Nine grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren also survive.  She was preceded in death by one brother: Ed Jones, two sisters: Shirley Curry and Joyce Miller, and special friend: Leroy Lashbrook.

Marilyn was a member of First United Methodist Church of Mattoon.  She had been an in-home care giver.
