Mark Johnson

CHARLESTON – Mark Jason Johnson, 50, of Charleston, passed away Friday, November 22, 2024 while doing something he loved, deer hunting.

Mark was born September 10, 1974 at Charleston, son of Myron (Steve) and Susan Jane (Lawyer) Johnson.  He married Ashley Dawn Armstrong, August 29, 2015 at the Loxa Presbyterian Church; she survives.  Also surviving are his sons, Bryce Johnson and Brock Johnson, both of Charleston; his mother, Susie Johnson of Westfield; sisters, Connie (Rick) Tharp of Westfield and Glenna (George) Birch of Charleston.  He was preceded in death by his father, Steve Johnson.

Mark was an employee of UPS for more than thirty years and had farmed alongside his father and his sons.  He was a member of the Charleston Moose Lodge and the Clark County Farm Bureau.  Mark had a passion for farming, was a gifted woodworker, and had a true talent in the kitchen.  He loved his family and anything to do with the outdoors.

The world lost a truly amazing man.  There wasn't a thing he wouldn't do for you, a friend he couldn't make, or a story he didn't have.  He loved BIG and was the BEST.  He will be truly missed.

His visitation will be held from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 26, 2024 at Home Church, 2350 Madison, Charleston, with his funeral starting at 7:00 p.m.  Memorials in his honor may be directed to: Shriners Hospitals for Children.
