Max D. Weaver
CHARLESTON – Max Dale Weaver, 90, of Charleston, passed away Tuesday, August 26, 2025 at Willow Breeze Hospice House, with his children at his side.
Visitation will be held Saturday, September 6, 2025 from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at the Harper-Swickard Funeral Home with his funeral beginning at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Rick Spangler officiating. Burial will be private in Roselawn Cemetery, Charleston. Memorials may be made to GT Church or a church of your choice.
Max was born October 27, 1934 in Charleston, son of Hazel Madge (Shaver) and Clifford Dale Weaver. He was united in marriage to Ruth LaDonna White, July 18, 1959 at Charleston. She preceded him into Heaven, September 5, 2022. He is survived by their children, Keith Weaver (Angelique Billups) of Mattoon and Sonya Castle (Terry) of Decatur; granddaughter, Valerie Pampe (Blake) of Parkersburg, IL; and great-grandchildren, Barrett Pampe and Dallas Pampe of Parkersburg, IL. He was preceded in death by one brother, Jack Weaver and one sister, Doris Helton.
Max was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church of Dorans, Illinois and most recently attended GT Church in Decatur. He worked as an auto body repairman at Lindley Chevrolet and then Freeland Chevrolet for more than twenty years. Max then went to work for the Charleston School District as a Custodian, and retired from there. He enjoyed spending time with family and tinkering on things.
