Michael Elliott

CHARLESTON – Michael Duane Elliott, 81, of Charleston, passed away Monday, April 27, 2026 at Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana.

Michael was born March 31, 1945 at Atlanta, Georgia, son of Walter and Lola Mae (Hidelbaugh) Elliott. He married Barbara Lynn Gobert, December 17, 2023; she survives. Also surviving is one son, Rusty Elliott and wife Jessica; grandchildren, Kendall Elliott and Sydni Elliott; great-grandchild, Arlo Michael Elliott; God son, Chase Miller; brother, Alan Elliott; and sisters, Barbara Murdock and Julie Lannon. He was preceded in death by his parents, and an infant son, Josh.

Michael retired as a Building Service worker from EIU. He was a U.S. Army veteran. He was a former member of the Charleston Moose Lodge. Michael enjoyed golfing, fishing, and stock car racing.
