Randall Franklin

CHARLESTON - Randall Franklin, 66, of Pensacola, Florida, entered his heavenly home on Thursday, September 3, 2026.

Randy was born on May 6, 1960, in Charleston, Illinois, to Homer Lyle Franklin and Lois Irene Franklin. Although he was born in Illinois, Randy spent most of his life in Pensacola, Florida, where he built a life filled with hard work, friendships, laughter, and countless acts of kindness.

Randy was a talented construction and metal worker who took pride in working with his hands. He spent many years working at Gulf Coast Building Products, where he was known for his strong work ethic and dedication. But perhaps what he will be remembered for most was not what he built with his hands, but how he impacted the lives of others.

He was a generous and kind-hearted man who was always willing to help. If someone needed something, Randy was the kind of person who would do whatever he could to lend a hand. He gave freely of his time, his talents, and his heart, never expecting anything in return.

Randy loved his motorcycle and enjoyed the freedom of riding before giving it up after his battle the last couple of years. He also cherished spending time with his friends and the people he cared deeply about. His friendships meant a great deal to him, and he had a way of making people feel valued and welcome. His absence will be deeply felt by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Randy is survived by his mother, Lois Irene Franklin. His sisters Debbie Reddish, Brenda Warren, and Deanna Franklin. Three nieces Amanda Reddish, Penny (Geoff) McGinness, Kendra (Trey) Stille. Five great nephews Logan Reddish, George McGinness, Roman McGinness, Macklin Stille and Corbin Stille, along with many friends and loved ones who will carry his memory with them. He was preceded in death by his father Homer Lyle Franklin, sister Sandra Kay Franklin and brother-in-law Kenneth Warren.

Randy leaves behind more than memories. He leaves behind the evidence of a life spent helping others, working hard, loving deeply, and giving generously. His big heart will be missed everywhere.

His graveside Memorial Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, October 9, 2026 at Roselawn Cemetery, Charleston, with Pastor Eldon Cook officiating.

During Randy’s transplant, Homewood Church of Christ’s Hospital Apartment Ministry was a huge blessing to him. It provided him a free place to live while he was in Birmingham.
