Ray Coartney

CHARLESTON – Ray I. Coartney, 75, of Charleston, passed away Thursday, July 4, 2019 at SBLHC.

His graveside funeral will be at 10:00 a.m. Monday, July 8, 2019 at Enon Cemetery, rural Ashmore.  Arrangements: Harper-Swickard.

Ray was born May 17, 1944 at Charleston, son of Robert Leland and Mildred Evelyn (Murphy) Coartney.  He is survived by several nieces and nephews; as well as great-nieces and great-nephews, with one great-niece: Amanda Alexander, who had a special relationship with Ray, and his long-time care giver and friend: Cindy Miller.   He was preceded in death by his parents, and one brother: Bob Coartney.

He was a member of Home Church of Charleston.  He was a member of the North American Fishing Club, and especially enjoyed fishing at Lake Shelbyville.
