Richard Cors

MATTOON – Richard A. Cors, 55, of Mattoon, passed away Thursday, February 29, 2024 at Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Center.

Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Friday, March 8, 2024 at the Harper-Swickard Funeral Home, Charleston.  His graveside funeral will follow at 11:00 a.m. at Kickapoo Cemetery, rural Charleston, with Pastor Ed Stephens officiating.

Richard was born November 12, 1968 at Jacksonville, Illinois, son of Ellen Sue (Barnes) and Joseph George Cors, Jr.  He is survived by his parents of Fair Oaks, CA, significant other, Jennifer Derrickson of Mattoon, three children, Jessica Hellman of Mattoon, Sarah Fowler of Fair Oaks, CA, and Ryan Wejmar of Wilton, CA, one brother, Brian Benson of Chicago, IL, one sister, Stephanie Cors of Charleston, and six grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents and paternal grandparents.
