Rick McGahey

CHARLESTON – Rick L. McGahey, 62, of Charleston, passed away Thursday, April 18, 2019 at SBLHC.

The funeral service honoring his life will be held at 12:00 p.m. (NOON) Tuesday, April 23, 2019 at the Harper-Swickard Funeral Home with Reverend Roger Kilzer officiating.  Burial will follow in Rest Haven Memorial Gardens, Mattoon.  Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Rick was born July 7, 1956 at Mattoon, son of Lawrence P. and W. Jean (Hall) McGahey.  He married Darlene M. Easley, December 7, 1985; she survives.  He is also survived by children: Lacey (Andy Stoneburner) McGahey of Mattoon, Josh (Jaime) Reynolds of Newton, Corey (Becky) Reynolds of Shelbyville, Jay McGahey of Charleston, and Elizabeth Archer of Colorado; one brother: Robert (Sue) McGahey of Mattoon; one sister: Cathy (Chris) Veech of Mississippi; nine grandchildren: Shaylee McGahey, Andrew Stoneburner, Kaiser Stoneburner, Mackinzee Reynolds, Gage Reynolds, Madison Reynolds, Skylen Reynolds, Reagan McGahey, and Mason McGahey.  He was preceded in death by his parents, and an infant brother.

Rick was a retired truck driver.  He enjoyed riding his Harley, and spending time with his family and friends.
