Robert Leonard, Jr.

CHARLESTON – Robert Lee Leonard, Jr., 73, of Charleston, passed away Wednesday, October 17, 2018 at Mattoon Health Care Center.

His memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 24, 2018 at the Harper-Swickard Funeral Home.  Visitation will begin at 12:00 p.m. (Noon) Wednesday at the funeral home.

Robert was born August 27, 1945 in Chicago, Illinois, son of Ivah Laverne (Schneider) and Robert Lee Leonard, Sr.   He married Lucretia Barnes, August 27, 1976 at Charleston; she preceded him in death, February 24, 2012.  He is survived by their children: Jeri (Hank) Krabel, Bobbi Leonard, Mikey Melton, and Felicia Leonard, all of Charleston; one brother: Jerry Leonard of Charleston; three sisters: Joan Levett and Brenda Sawyer, both of Charleston, and Helen Holt of Champaign; and three grandchildren: Ivah Leonard, Corrie Leonard, and Neveah Leonard.  He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers.

Robert team drove a semi with his brother for many years.  He was an extremely generous person, who gave to numerous good causes.
