Robert Stites

MATTOON – Robert B. Stites, 79, of Mattoon, passed away Friday, May 15, 2020 at his home.

Robert was born May 3, 1941 at Kansas, Illinois, son of Charles and June (York) Stites.  He is survived by two children: Bonnie Wilson and husband Don of Charleston and Chuck Stites and wife Mary Ellen of St. Joseph, IL.  Seven grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and three brothers: Ronald Stites and wife Annie of Oakland, Thomas Stites of Streator, IL, and David Stites of Westfield, also survive.  He was preceded in death by his parents: Charles Stites and June Sullivan, and step-father: Harry Sullivan.

In earlier years, Robert was a farmer, farrier, and a rodeo rider.  He had worked at Addressograph, and retired from R. R. Donnelly.  He loved to go fishing and deer hunting.
