Roberta Bacon

CHARLESTON – Roberta Ann Bacon, 81, of Charleston, passed away Friday, May 1, 2026 at Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana.

Roberta was born January 7, 1945 at Decatur, Illinois, a daughter of Robert W. and Marguerite I. (Wilson) Charlesworth. She is survived by two children, Todd Bacon of Keller, TX and Tammy Devore and husband Chris of Richardson, TX; and two grandchildren, Savannah Devore and Jack Devore and wife Roxanne. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Roberta was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church of Charleston. She had worked for many years at the Coles County Clerk’s office and Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Center. Later in life, she had gone back to college and became a pre-school teacher, a career she truly enjoyed. Roberta enjoyed watching movies, working in her flower gardens, and she cherished spending time with her family.
