CHARLESTON – Sharalon "Shari" Digsby went to her Heavenly home to be with Jesus Christ on October 4, 2017 after a battle with renal disease.
The funeral service honoring her life will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, October 9, 2017 at the Harper-Swickard Funeral Home with Pastor Duane Piercy officiating. Burial will follow in Roselawn Cemetery, Charleston. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Shari was born February 10, 1947 at Champaign, Illinois, a daughter of Herman Frank and Bettye Pauline (Eads) Digsby. She is survived by a son, James Boise and special friend Farrell of Mahomet, IL; grandchildren: Steven H. (Ashley) Boise of Jacksonville, FL, Sarah Boise of Pittsburg, IL, and Alecia (Arty) Boise of Rantoul, IL; great-grandchildren: Steven J. Boise of Ludlow, IL and Mark Phillippi of Rantoul, IL; sisters: Kathy (Doug) McCarlie of Summit, MS, Viki Smith of Colorado Springs, CO, and Sandra Patrick of Bristol, TN; a brother: Thomas Digsby of Longmont, CO; an aunt: Oleen Miller of Denver, CO. Shari is also survived by many cousins, nieces, and nephews, as well as special friends: Annie Blagg and family, Janet Cross and family, and Shirley Cox, all of Charleston. Shari was preceded in death by her parents and one brother: David Digsby.
Shari worked part-time as a receptionist for the Coles County Public Health Department for nine years. She enjoyed greeting people and loved to work with the public. Shari attended Victory Church in Camargo and Northside Baptist Church in Charleston.
