Stephen Hurt

CHARLESTON – Stephen Ernest Hurt, 71, of Charleston, passed away Sunday, June 6, 2021 at home surrounded by family.

His graveside Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, June 11, 2021 at Roselawn Cemetery, Charleston.  Memorials: Lincolnland Hospice.  Arrangements: Harper-Swickard.

Steve was born August 29, 1949 at Greenup, son of Ernest and Maxine L. (Burwell) Hurt.  He married Hazel R. Cunningham, February 4, 1973 at Seymour, Illinois; she survives.  Other survivors include their children, Amanda (James) Howard of Lovington and Ernest (Malinda) Hurt of Toone, TN; grandchildren, Hanah Watson, Caitlinn (Dustin) Robinson, Madison Abbott, Zoe Howard, Dalton Calhoun, Delaney Abbott, and Nicholas Hurt; three great-grandchildren: one brother, Mark Hurt; and two sisters, Adrian Wilfong and Shelby Fults.  He was preceded in death by three brothers, Burl Wade, Alan Hurt, and David Sisney and wife Shirley.

Steve was an active supporter of 4H, and enjoyed mushroom hunting, fishing, and hunting.  He especially treasured time spent with his family and grandchildren.
