Thomas Vaughn

MATTOON – Thomas A. Vaughn, 76, of Mattoon, passed away Sunday, May 16, 2021 at his home.

Tom was born August 5, 1944 in Charleston, son of Charles N. and Mable (Pearcy) Vaughn.  He married Diana Snoddy in 1965; she passed away October 9, 1989.  He later married Marilyn Janes in 1992.  She passed away February 6, 2018.  Survivors include a son, Troy Vaughn and wife Gretchen of Neoga and a daughter, Kimberly Brigham of Mattoon, as well as seven grandchildren, Stephanie Gordon of Mattoon, Sarah Gordon of Mattoon, Nichele (Hunter) Bryan of Charleston, Robert (Taylor) Gordon of Mattoon, Nick (Emily) Voltenburg of Jefferson City, MO, Kolby Vaughn of Neoga, and Treyton Vaughn of Neoga, and nine great-grandchildren.  He was also preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, Charles, Clarence, and Bill Vaughn and two sisters, Doris Linder and Mary Tucker.

Tom was a truck driver for Rex and Don for thirty years.  He was a member of First Church of God and the Charleston Moose Lodge.

Memorial visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. Thursday, May 20, 2021 at the Harper-Swickard Funeral Home.  Inurnment will follow in Roselawn Cemetery, Charleston, with Kevin Ashby officiating.
