Virginia Grant

CHARLESTON – Virginia Roseanne Grant, 69, of Charleston, formerly of Effingham, passed away Tuesday, September 2, 2025 at her home.

Virginia was born August 2, 1956 at Alton, Illinois, daughter of Edith (Sturgeon) and Roy Lee Shoptaw. She is survived by two sons, Robert Grant of Effingham and Kevin Grant and husband Dustin McLaughlin of Urbana.  She was preceded in death by her parents, three sisters, one brother, and son, Christopher Grant.

Virginia was a proud SEIU-HCII Union member, and had also worked in home care.

Virginia enjoyed her pets, watching wildlife in her yard, and loved being at home.

A Memorial Gathering will be held at 5:30 p.m. Monday, September 29, 2025 at the Lake Charleston Pavilion, with Chris Miller officiating.  Arrangements: Harper-Swickard.
