Andy Blagg
CHARLESTON – Michael Andrew “Andy” Blagg, 55, of Lisle, Illinois, formerly of Charleston, passed away Friday, February 7, 2020 at Good Samaritan Hospital, Downers Grove, IL.
Andy was born December 28, 1964 in Charleston, son of Robert E. and Barbara A. (Twigg) Blagg. He is survived by his parents and brother, James Blagg and wife Gina, all of Charleston and three nephews and one niece, Justyn Blagg and fiancée Ally Eddinger of McKinney, TX, Jarrod Blagg of O’Fallon, IL, and Garrison and Olivia Blagg, both of Charleston; one aunt, Mary Lucas and husband Leonard of Frankfort, IN; and one uncle, Joe Blagg and wife Ruby of Marshall. He was preceded in death by his brother, Robert David Blagg.
Andy attended Charleston schools and graduated with a Master’s Degree in Finance from EIU. He lived in Lisle, Illinois, and taught Business and Finance classes online for several universities.
Andy was an avid football fan and watched many games with his best friend (since he was five years old) Rick Jack. He came back to Charleston every two to three weeks to see his parents, brother, and family, and to eat his Mom’s cooking.
Andy enjoyed working out and had his own gym equipment, and tried to eat as healthy as he could. He will always be missed by his family and friends.
Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, February 12, 2020 at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, Charleston, with his Memorial Mass to follow at 11:00 a.m. at the church, with Father Braden Maher officiating. Inurnment will follow in Roselawn Cemetery, Charleston. Memorials in his honor may be given to a charity of the donor’s choice. Arrangements: Harper-Swickard.
