CHARLESTON – Donald K. Lawyer, 81, of Charleston, passed away Friday, October 13, 2023 at his home.

His graveside funeral will be at 10:00 a.m. Monday, October 16, 2023 at Liberty Cemetery, rural Charleston.  Arrangements: Harper-Swickard.  In lieu of flowers, memorials in his honor may be made to: Lincolnland Hospice or SBLHC Cancer Center.

Don was born July 1, 1942 in Charleston, son of Robert and Ethel N. (King) Lawyer.  He married Michelle Lynne Moody, July 19, 1964 at Charleston, she survives.  Also surviving are their children, Rhonda (John) Cash of Greenup and Todd (Kara Pearcy) Lawyer of Mattoon; grandchildren, Kyle (Dori) Cash of Toledo, Krista (Matt) Eversole of Shelbyville, and Zac Lawyer of Texas.  Great-grandchildren, Harper Eversole, Henry Eversole, Eloise Eversole, and Ezra Eversole, Grady Cash, Gavin Cash, and Kyle Lawyer; and one sister, Susan (Steve) Johnson of Westfield.  He was preceded in death by his parents, and one brother, Carrol Lawyer.

Don retired from NeCo Asphalt.  Aside from spending time with his family, fishing was his favorite thing to do.
