Doug was a LEGEND at Charleston Speedway, where he raced the number 54c. He held many Track Championships there. He was a HUGE supporter of his son, Dave, who raced for years and has Track Championships and also his grandson, Mason, who runs the number 54c who also has a Track Championship.
Doug and his wife Cheryl loved riding motorcycles with their friends, who he cherished dearly. They had fun wherever they went.
Doug would “make his rounds” daily to South Side Café, Miller’s Automotive, and TCA to check on “the boys”.
He never met a stranger and was one of the nicest people you could ever meet. He had stories for days for anyone that would listen.
Doug was preceded in death by his parents, Frances and Henrietta, his in-laws, Dave and Imogene Normile, his brother, Carl Butler and wife Naomi, Cherri’s fiance’ Josh Kapper, several Aunts and Uncles, and his beloved dog of 16 years, Kendall.
