CHARLESTON, IL – Frank E. Hatten, 99, of Charleston, Illinois, passed away Saturday, March 26, 2022 at Arbor Rose of Charleston, with family at his side.

 

The funeral service honoring his life will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, March 31, 2022 at First Church of God, 1225 Montgomery Drive, Charleston.  Arrangements: Harper-Swickard.  Burial with military rites by Paul McVey V.F.W. Post #1592 and Charleston American Legion Post will follow in Roselawn Cemetery, Charleston.  Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.  Memorials: First Church of God, Charleston.

 

Frank was born August 1, 1922 at Vandalia, Illinois, son of Burt and Lola (Cates) Hatten.  He married Elizabeth Isley, February 21, 1941 at St. Louis, MO.  She preceded him into Heaven, June 29, 2005.  He is survived by their children, William E. (Connie Jo) Hatten of Strasburg, IL, Shirley J. (Jack) Moore of Camby, IN, and Patricia A. (Larry J.) Welsh of Dandridge, TN.  One sister, Betty Hatten Latch of Neoga, as well as seven grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, and seven great-great-grandchildren.  He was also preceded in death by three grandchildren and five sisters.

 

Frank was a U.S. Marines veteran of World War II, and served in the occupation of China.  He was a member of First Church of God of Charleston and had attended The Crossing in Dandridge, TN.  He loved hunting, fishing, reading, and camping.
