Judith Lynn (Miller) Whitinger was born July 20, 1951, in Mattoon, Illinois to Ernest and Marge Miller. She passed away at age 70 on Wednesday November 24, 2021, at Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Center in Mattoon, Illinois, after becoming ill with pneumonia four days prior. Judy grew up in Mattoon, Illinois, raised by her father Earnest and stepmother Virginia (Jenny) Miller, and graduated from Mattoon High school in 1969. On June 6, 1969, Judy married Walter Lee Whitinger and moved to Frankfort, Indiana to begin a family. Together with her husband Walter, she raised two daughters, Ida, born in 1970 and Ina, born in 1973. Judy and Walter divorced, but remained together until his passing on December 30, 1999. Judy was a full-time homemaker throughout her life. She loved dolls, animals and classic country music and playing cards. After her children were raised, Judy moved back home to Mattoon, Illinois to be closer to family and remained in the Mattoon-Charleston area until her passing.

Two grandchildren:

Jennifer (Miller) Doty and husband Kyle of Lerna, IL
Melissa (Miller) Ethington and husband Ricky of Trilla, IL

A Memorial Service for family and close friends is planned at 1 pm on Tuesday November 30, 2021 at Harper-Swickard Funeral Home, 720 Monroe Ave, Charleston, IL.
