CHARLESTON – Larry Edward Lovell, 76, of Charleston, passed away Thursday, February 25, 2021 at SBLHC.

 

His funeral will be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday, March 1, 2021 at Salisbury Church, 2190 County Highway 5, Charleston, with Pastor Michael Stewart officiating.  Burial will follow in Roselawn Cemetery, Charleston.  Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.  Arrangements: Harper-Swickard.  IN LIEU OF FLOWERS, memorials may be given to Salisbury Church to use for Children’s Ministry.

 

Larry was born September 28, 1944 at Casey, Illinois, son of Velma (Goodwin) and Donald Lovell, Sr.  He married Sara Jane Reddish, December 30, 1978 at the Enon Baptist Church, near Ashmore; she survives.  Also surviving are their children:

Randy (Britany) Lovell, Jeff (Angie) Lovell, and Wes (Charolette) Davis; and two brothers: Donald (Donna) Lovell, Jr. and Dave (Cheryl) Lovell.  Nine grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren also survive.  He was preceded in death by his parents, an infant sister, and brother: Jerry Lovell.

 

Larry was a member of Salisbury Church.  He had worked in maintenance for The Bank and Boatmen’s National Bank, as a grain handler for Mal-Penn Grain Company, and as a farm hand for Coffey Brothers John Deere Dealership.  He was a long-time member of the Ashmore Volunteer Fire Department, and the Lions Club.  Larry enjoyed going on vacation and especially spending time with his family.
