CHARLESTON - O. Yvette Brown, age 73, passed peacefully into her eternal life on Friday, July 3, 2020 with family by her side.
A memorial service honoring her life will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, July 11, 2020 at Northside Baptist Church, 414 North 5th Street in Charleston, IL. The family is requesting that masks be worn at the service. A private family burial at Kickapoo Cemetery will take place following the service.
Yvette was born February 22, 1947 in Charleston, IL, the daughter of Bill and Martha (Lee) Boaz. She married Charles Edward Brown on April 4, 1970 at Clear Creek Baptist Church and they just celebrated 50 years of marriage. She is survived by her loving husband, Ed, her son, Matthew and wife Angela of Lafayette, Indiana and their children, Travis, Tristan and Alex; and her son, Joseph of Champaign, IL.
Other survivors include two great-grandchildren; her brother, Denny (Marcy) Boaz; and two sisters, Beverly (Les) Edwards, and Cheryl (Gary) Gilbert, as well as many beloved nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, daughter, Rachel Brown, and sister-in-law, Cindy Boaz.
Yvette worked as a hairdresser in Charleston and thoroughly enjoyed making all of her special ladies look beautiful!
Yvette attended the Northside Baptist Church, where she served on the Board, sang in the choir, provided many delicious dishes for church functions, and enjoyed sending cards to other church members on special occasions.
Her greatest joy was spending time with her family and special visits from her children and grandchildren.
