Roger was born May 14, 1942 at Mattoon, son of Marion and Dorothy (Rardin) Smith.  He married Lina Lee Newcomb, August 21, 1965 at Charleston; she preceded him in death, November 13, 2014.  He is survived by their children: Rick (Sarah Dowell) Smith of Charleston and Gregg (Vanessa) Smith of Neoga.  Grandchildren: Zane Smith, Ashley Smith, and Kaitlyn Smith; brothers: Ed Smith of Springfield, MO, Terry Smith of Villa Rica, GA, and Dennis Smith of Cedar Rapids, IA; sister: Joan Gass of Sigel, IL. Roger retired from Moore Business Forms as a Pressman.  He was a member of the Gold Wing Riders Association.  Roger and Lina loved riding their motorcycle all over, and they also loved camping with their children.  Once Roger and Lina became grandparents, they were over the moon about the grandchildren, and treasured all the time they were able to spend with them.  Roger was a proud U.S. Navy Veteran.
