Stephen Higgins

 

CHARLESTON – Stephen “Steve” Mack Higgins, 56, of Charleston, passed away Wednesday, November 3, 2021 at his home.

 

The funeral service honoring his life will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, November 8, 2021 at East Harrison Street Church of God.  Burial will follow in Roselawn Cemetery, Charleston. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Memorials may be directed to East Harrison Street Church of God.  Arrangements: Harper-Swickard.

 

Steve was preceded in death by his parents, James and Beatrice (Gray) Higgins, and one brother, Philip.

 

Surviving are his siblings, sister, Lee and husband Richard, of Newman, IL; sister, Deborah and husband Roy, of Houston, TX; brother, James, of Charleston, IL; brother, Ken and wife Nelma, of Atkins, VA; and sister, Cindy and husband Clarence, of Charleston, IL; and several nieces and nephews, in addition to best friends, Curt Stewart and Lori Grissom, and special friend, Mindy Sims.

 

Steve attended Rardin Elementary School until Third Grade, and went on to Twin City Christian Academy, and graduated in 1984.  He was an avid Miami Dolphins and Chicago Cubs fan.  Steve was an artist and performed in a band, Service Station 431 with friends.

 

Steve was a member of the East Harrison Street Church of God.  He had a deep love of God and family.  Steve enjoyed playing Santa Claus.
